The origin of these painterly collages is, again, the earth that is holding us. I have long nurtured the idea of preserving the natural, often self-collected materials of pottery and ceramic art—soil, clay, rocks and minerals—as raw as possible. Through the laborious process of manual paper making, these substances have settled deep inside the paper in a wet merger of earth, plant fibers and water, in contrast to the transformative unification in firing.

Realized in collaboration with Petra Füzes at Orfű Mills.
